Welcome remarks of the Ambassador

Welcome to the official website of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Korea!

Viet Nam and the Republic of Korea established the diplomatic relations on 22 December 1992. Thanks to the great efforts and contributions of the people and governments of the two countries, the Viet Nam-Korea relations have developed rapidly in all areas of cooperation, including political, diplomatic, economic, trade, investment, socio-cultural and people-to-people exchanges. The two sides have gradually upgradedthe bilateral relations to "Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership" in 2001 and to "Strategic Cooperative Partnership" in 2009. During the state visit of President Park Geun-hye to Viet Nam in September 2013, leaders of the two countries agreed to exert the best efforts of both sides to bring the bilateral cooperation in all areas to a new height.

The Embassy of Viet Nam in the Republic of Korea, established in 1992, continues to serve as a bridge for the furthered development of ever-stronger cooperation between the two countries and a trusted base for the Vietnamese community in the Republic of Korea.

We will do our best to keep the Embassy’s website updated on the situation in Viet Nam, the Viet Nam-Korea relationship, as well as information on consular procedures, and the services provided for the Vietnamese people who are living, working and studying in Korea. Amb. Pham Huu Chi: Korea and Vietnam - Combined Strength for Dynamic Development in the Spirit of Brotherhood (16-04-2014)
President Park Geun-hye of Republic of Korea and Vietnam’s top leaders, including President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, recently had discussions regarding the economic cooperation between two countries, particularly measures how to bolster future economic ties. Currently, Vietnam has huge potential in developing further both within its own country and internationally. The Korean government will be working with the Vietnamese in order to increase its two way trade volume to US$ 70 billion 2020. Since diplomatic relations was established 22 years ago, Korea and Vietnam have shown remarkable growth in many fields including economy, culture, and society. Currently, over 3,000 Korean companies have moved branches and factories into Vietnam, employing over 600,000 Vietnamese. Vietnam’s Ambassador to Korea, Pham Huu Chi sat down for an interview with Korea IT Times to talk about the cooperation and exchanges of two countries.
